yeah I don't think I can take any more of Legend of Shen Li. cool CGI, great music, but I just hate the ML too much. maybe later I'll go back and skip through it for scenes with Mofang or cool fights. I'm guessing Furong and the maid will end up together - the way she chases him around reminds me of Blood of Youth. anyway, time to explore some other stuff~

xingzhi definitely had his endearing moments at the beginning but at this point he's just being a dick and i'm fed up with him. shenli wants to be open and straightforward and he just wants to play games with her because of his stupid ego or something. i hope mofang can at least put some pressure on him to change his behavior.

Feb 2024 Chinese music~
I didn't forget, just can't keep up with everything at the same time :)

I'm not sure I'm going to be successful at getting into C "pop" specifically. On the one hand a lot of songs I'm listening to tend to be rather boring, and on the other hand upbeat songs can easily get choppy because of the monosyllabic nature of Chinese. I'm still gravitating towards songs with a more "traditional" sound (古风 gufeng is the word I guess?). I think Chinese sounds really nice in songs with a flowing and/or epic nature.

Anyway, some more well-known artists I enjoyed:
张碧晨 Zhang Bichen - former member of Kpop group Sunny Days - she released a beautiful OST on Valentine's Day for the drama The Legend of Shen Li - here's the MV 🔥 it looks cool, I kinda wanna watch it 👀
